Hi, there! Thanks for visiting LittleMak! I'm so excited to share two of my great passions with you, fashion and my kids. LittleMak is the manifestation of many years of interrupted planning. When my oldest daughter, Holmes, was two we embarked on a really hard journey battling an incredibly rare autoimmune disease, Pediatric Idiopathic Pulmonary Capillaritis (IPC). Don't waste your time 'Googling' it, there is limited information due to how rare it is -- there isn't even a published treatment protocol! Short explanation? Her lungs fill with blood causing difficulty breathing. Over the past three years, our family has been in isolation to the MAX due to both IPC and COVID-19. My family has learned so much during this time -- most importantly: that we cannot plan for the future and that God's grace is sufficient and complete. We realized that there is no time like the present and that when passion and opportunity meet, you must 'take the leap,' hence why I launched LittleMak!

Dandelion Logo: Our logo is more than just a pretty image. During isolation and still today, we look forward to our evening walks as a family. On these walks, we often find ourselves distracted by picking dandelions and blowing them at one another. I once heard that dandelions are considered 'God's most perfect flower' because, like our Holmes, it has survived significant challenges and difficulties in winter to become the beautiful white puffball that it is!
Our Name: LittleMak is Holmes' nickname given to her by her great-grandfather. Her first name is McKinley and when she was born he told me "McKinley is too much, I'm just going to call her Little Mak."
Our Drive: Meeting people where they are! The money and time I spent on clothes that Holmes never got to wear because of her many hospital stays over the years would blow your mind! My goal is to offer ready-to-live clothes that are fun, cute, comfortable and affordable for the family on the go so that they are ready for whatever life throws at them.
About me, Barrett
Our sweet family is me, my husband of eight years, Brock, and our two daughters, Holmes (5) and Baines (2).
LittleMak is the great convergence of my professional experience and love for my family. When I graduated from Ole Miss, I moved to the Los Angeles area to work for a celebrity stylist. My job consisted of pulling options for the client dependent on the event, from the dress to shoes, to undergarments and jewelry. I had the privilege of dressing stars for events such as the Grammys, SAG Awards, Oscars, movie premieres and even a celebrity wedding. This was an experience that was so much fun and in which I learned a lot, however, it was a job where I was on call 24/7. This lifestyle unfortunately would not allow for a family life which I knew was a longing of my heart.
Upon this realization, I went back to school and got my master's degree. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and practiced until Holmes got sick in 2019. I am blessed to have worked with many different clients from all walks of life struggling with a myriad of issues. Since then, I have loved the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mother spending every day with my two girls!
